Hatching Egg Shipping Policy

Thank you for your interest in our hatching eggs! We take great care in collecting, storing, and packaging our eggs, but please understand that shipped hatching eggs are never risk-free. By purchasing shipped eggs from Rustic Roots Farm, you agree to the following policy:

Egg Quality & Fertility
• Our breeding flocks are healthy, well cared for, and part of our NPIP/AI PT certified program.
• Eggs are collected daily and stored properly before shipment.
• While we carefully monitor fertility, we cannot guarantee fertility or hatch rates once eggs leave our farm.

Hatch success depends on many factors outside our control including:
– Postal handling and rough transit
– X-ray scanning and temperature exposure
– Incubation practices and equipment
– Humidity, elevation, and experience level of the incubator

For this reason, shipped eggs are sold as hatching eggs, not chicks, and no hatch rate is guaranteed.

Shipping & Packaging
• Eggs are shipped via USPS Priority Mail unless otherwise arranged.
• Each egg is individually wrapped and cushioned using proven packing methods to minimize damage.
• We mark packages “Fragile — Hatching Eggs — Please Do Not X-Ray,” however, we cannot control how USPS handles packages.

Arrival & Damage
• Please open your package immediately upon delivery.
• If eggs arrive visibly broken, you must contact us within 2 hours of delivery with clear photos of:

1) The shipping box
2) The packing materials
3) The damaged eggs

We will review and may offer replacement eggs or a partial farm credit when possible. Shipping costs are non-refundable.

No Guarantee After Shipment
Once eggs are shipped and accepted by USPS, Rustic Roots Farm is not responsible for:
• Postal delays
• Rough handling
• Detached air cells
• Clear eggs
• Early, late, or failed hatches

We strongly recommend allowing eggs to rest 12–24 hours (large end up) before incubation.

Weather Policy
We reserve the right to delay shipment due to extreme heat or cold for the safety and viability of the eggs.

Payments & Order Terms
• Payment reserves your place on our collection list.
• Orders are filled in the order payments are received.
• We do not accept returns on hatching eggs.

By purchasing hatching eggs from Rustic Roots Farm, you acknowledge that you understand and accept the risks involved with shipping fertile eggs and agree to this policy.
